By now, everyone in Cardinal Nation has read and reread Ryan Franklin's comments from yesterday.
And we're still mad as hell.
I don't care how many times you tell us that you are "frustrated" or say you understand that fans are "frustrated" in your apology. There is one fact and one fact only that Franklin needs to think about.
He needs to stop throwing pitches that turn into long balls.
Frankie, your ERA is almost 10.
Let me spell that out for you, T-E-N. And how many saves have you blown this year? Yeah, you don't want to think about that.
Let me point out another thing, Frankie, you're getting paid $3.25 million to pitch. You want to complain about fans booing you? Think about their average salaries and how much they are spending just to watch you blow a game. Nowhere $3.25 mill, I can tell you that.
You don't think Cardinals fans are the best in baseball? Maybe you shouldn't be here anymore. We stood behind you. We cheered you. But, buddy, you are no Bruce Sutter.
Cardinals fans know that pitchers have bad days. We understand the game. But when you act all high and mighty, like you are too good to be the one getting boos, like you are so superior, and that's how you sounded, then you deserve to get more than a few boos.
Cardinals fans are loyal to a fault. But you turned your back on us, Ryan Franklin, and now we'll do the same.
