Wainwright misses out on Cy

Well the NL Cy Young is out and who would have thought the two Cardinal pitchers would get the shaft.  Adam Wainwright clearly should have taken the award, but a couple of factors cost him.  One, former Cy Young winner Chris Carpenter is his teammate and took all of his second place votes from him.  Two, strikeouts seem to be the only thing that matters anymore in this award.  An NL leading 19 wins should be enough said, but I guess only 15 is doable for this kind of recognition.  What is wrong with the voters these days.  It seems to be all about the fantasy numbers.  Did Tim Lincecum's success get his team into the post season? No.  How is it that a guy who gets more first place votes than anyone finishes third in the race?  This is just ridiculous.  Give credit to where credit is do.  Not to some pot head out in the west coast that has a higher rated sports market.  Wainwright was the man this year, 19-8 2.61 ERA 1.21 WHIP and yes 212 strikeouts.  The 19 wins should speak for itself, 4 more than Lincecum.
